Well, damn. I hate it when my babies are sick. Trinity's been sick and now Owen is down with it. Awful, awful stomach bug (avert your eyes if you must: he reportedly vomited ten times in one day). Leo's under the weather too but was more of a headache/fever/cold thing. His fever broke in the night so he went to work. I sorta wish he'd stayed home to rest but that is not his way. My poor sweet peas. Hopefully we will stay healthy although I think I must have some sinus thing going on because one of my cheekbones has been sore as hell and I just keep blowing my nose.
Ernie had his pre-op physical, which was fine except for...platelets. He has to go and get platelets on Saturday at the lab in the south clinic. I love how helpful these descriptions in MyCarle are. I guess I'm easily amused but this made me laugh when I saw it. Also, the lab service is estimated at 15 minutes. I wish. Heh. I don't think I'll be able to sit with him since it's at the lab. 😠

Salmon and spinach/arugula salad for dinner last night. I should have made the dressing a tad sweeter to balance the arugula but it was still good. Leftover salmon and strawberries for breakfast which was delightful. Tonight? I'm not sure. I couldn't sleep last night so I looked at recipes in the middle of the night but they don't sound as good now. I was thinking Thai celery salad with roasted black pepper chicken thighs. Or we might go for a pasta with some kinda green vegetables. So many decisions.

Ok, picking this up today, I must report that we punted and had frozen pizza last night. I had the sourdough kind I like (and since it's real sourdough---no yeast---I can eat it even though it's not gluten free. Life is so puzzling) and as it's plain cheese I added red pepper flakes and feta cheese, oh, and some spinach and arugula on top. Should have made a vinaigrette for the greens. Why don't I just make a big batch of vinaigrette instead of constantly whining about how something needed a bit of vinaigrette? Stay tuned. Tonight we're going back to the Thai celery and chicken plan.
Onward.
