Gentle air

Sometimes the air just feels gentle. Perhaps it's a springtime thing. Maybe it's the softness of the humidity after all the cold dry weather. Regardless, it feels so good. The other night I laid down on the couch to read although mostly I was admiring the sky as it softened and darkened.

Leo came down and was standing by the stairs talking to me. Finally I told him to sit down so I didn't have to crane my neck to talk to him. After a bit Ernie came out of the media room and said, "Oh, I didn't know you guys were talking out here," and settled into a different chair. We all talked for a long time drifting from subject to subject. I tried to get a picture of Leo because the light was so nice but it didn't work. He's still got impeccable timing. And yet, consistency can be such a strength. I love that boy so.

The next morning Owen came and picked Leo up and drove him to O'Hare. He is off to visit his beloved Tal. As they drove off my heart flickered. I couldn't help but think that my whole world was in that car.

Their drive was fine of course. Leo arrived safe and sound in England and Owen got back home fine. Now I look forward to both Leo and Tal arriving next weekend.

The rain certainly wasn't gentle last night but Ernie's tree peonies are lush and stood up to it. I think this is their best year yet.

A few more shots of Greene County.

Onward.
