Saturday
Yesterday was such a gorgeous crisp day. What we should have done? Worked in the yard. What did we do? Why, we went for a short drive and lunch. I know, such a surprise. We headed over to Green Gables, north of Bloomington, for a quick lunch. We drove on the back roads and it was beautiful. Lots of harvesting and making way for tractors on the road or trucks of corn making their way to the grain elevators.

Ernie had a cheeseburger and fries.
I stuck with just fries but had a nibble of Ernie's burger. It's SO good. The cook just shrugged and said, "It's the grill. It does all the work."
We meandered back to Champaign, had a drink and some popcorn at Huber's and headed home. Made a simple pork tenderloin in the cast iron skillet and finished it in the oven, some mashed butternut squash (with just a dash of coconut aminos [soy sauce] and maple syrup) on spinach. Simple and Octoberish and good.
Today? It might be time to go buy mums. I've got a busy week coming up so I will try to compromise between relaxing and being productive today.
Onward.
