And So It Begins
I'm starting my first month on the full AIP diet as defined by my doctor. So....no nuts, seeds, nightshades (tomato, pepper, eggplant, potatoes), no grains except half a cup of quinoa a day (goodbye newly loved Oatly). Beef is to be grass fed ($$)....bone broth every morning...no caffeine, no drinking with meals, when I do drink water, and lots of it, to be room temperature. The only fruits are blueberries, cherries, cranberries and Granny Smith apples. I'm supposed to have smoothies for breakfast. And this is on top of no wheat, no soy, no dairy, no chicken, no pork, no alcohol. There's lots more but you get the idea.
Now, mind you, this is for a month, then we start adding things back in.
I went with a smoothie of baby boy choy, spinach, cucumber, green apple, and avocado. It wasn't bad, but I think I need a better blender. Oh, and the blender wouldn't turn off, so we had to unplug it. Yeah, maybe a better blender.
I can do it. And there's no point in cheating, because I'd be cheating myself. Sigh. I'm one week in on not eating the food I was identified as allergic to (pork, chicken, wheat, etc) and I must say I do a feel a bit better. I don't feel quite as foggy although my brain still feels incredibly scattered. I haven't been posting here as much because I feel, umm...there must be another word for scattered brain. I've been doing more on Instagram, as that is easier...dug up some old pictures to share there as well. If you are inclined, follow me there, as, of course, The Sandwich Life.
Onward.
