Very Quick Random Notes....

1. Way too busy to post much...but here are the white beans I got from my overgrown polebeans.  They are fabulous.....

2.  We have a decision at LAST.  Owen, of course, will be Indiana Jones for Halloween.  Leo's decision process, of course, was long and tortured.  However a decision was reached last night and he will be appearing as......HANS SOLO.  Now can you just IMAGINE how great he's going to look?  Of course I have to find the appropriate vest thing and his blaster.  He's told me he would like it to be authentic.  He showed me the Lego version as an example.  I know there's the whole gun thing but I've kind of gotten over that.....Leo's hardly an aggressive child---he'd probably just THINK somebody to death....

3.  I really expected Owen's Indiana Jones wedding recreation to get a few more comments guys....  Come on now....there's a small blonde ego at stake here....

4.  On an entirely different note....here is Gina's latest Judi update.  It is going to be terribly hard for Judi to leave Gina.  There is a very special bond there.  Just the same....I can't WAIT to have Judi settled here.  Hopefully she'll be here in time to see Indy and Hans....

Hi to all,

The optimist in me waits each day for some miraclecure for Judi's cancer to appear.  When she heads back to chemo or toa doctor appointment or to the transfusion center, I'm jerked back to thereality of her incessant battle.

It seems so unfair that she has so many decisionsto make while she's dealing with the side effects of her chemo, but she ispersistent in making those decisions.  Forthose of you who aren't aware yet, Judi will be leaving Clemson on October 30 totravel to Champaign-Urbana to live with her sister Cynthia and family. This is so difficult for Judi to leave Clemson at this point, but she simplyfeels she can't and doesn't want to live alone any longer.  She willcontinue chemo in Illinois with the blessings of Dr. Malik who will transfer herrecords and treatment protocol to an oncologist at the Champaign-Urbana CancerCenter.

I've told Judi that I selfishly want her to stay inClemson, but I know how much Cynthia wants her in Illinois; and think both ofthem need this time together.  It will be the best approach and wasultimately Judi's decision to make.  We should all celebrate hertenacity!

Judi's Clemson 'family' is still taking wonderfulcare of her.  One of her colleagues and his wife and a graduate studentspent hours in her backyard this past weekend cleaning it up; others walk Wallyeach day or drive her to chemo or bring her a dinner.  Nancy, a friend fromChicago, flew down this past weekend to spend a few days with her.  Anotherfriend will arrive from Canada on Saturday and stay until Cynthia arrivesWednesday.  Professional people from the pharmacists to the vet to theexterminator give her preferential treatment.  Dory cleans her home eachweek.  And the wonderful cards and packages and emails arrivedaily.

The chemo treatments are moving along.  Shestill has nausea.  Her appettie doesn't exist during chemo, but she eatsso she can keep up her strength.  And the meals people bring her arewonderful.  This week is a chemo week.  Two more days of it.  Wehope she feels much better by the time she travels to Illinois.

Please keep her in your thoughts, practices andprayers as she takes this next big step.  I will continue to keepyou posted.

Again, I have to tell you how truly loved you haveall made Judi feel.  Thank you.

With much gratitude,
Gina
