Another day...

A hard day for Judi yesterday.  More concerns regarding health insurance.  I've got a phone call and an email into the social worker so hopefully we'll get some answers.  As always, it's the 'not knowing' that is so hard.  Who the hell would have thought that Carle Clinic is not a Blue Cross preferred provider?  Sigh.

She misses her community of friends and colleagues too.  I know she loves being with us but, as one of her friends said, she's gone from a community to a nuclear family and it's a totally different dynamic.

I'm going to bring my mother over for dinner tonight.  We need to have a regular wheelchair ramp built but I think it will take up most of my garden area and I can't quite bring myself to do it.  Selfish, I guess.  The portable one we have is way too steep though and the whole thing becomes rather nerve wracking....  Oh, and of course we still don't have a dining room table....gotta figure out what to do with the Lego Millenium Falcon.  And then the other day part of the dining room table FELL off.  I kid you not.  It's a nice antique table that was probably never meant to be subjected to kids but I didn't expect chunks of it to just FALL OFF.  All I could do was laugh when Ernie called me about it.  "Can we still use it," I asked....to which he replied, "uh, yeah, it's just shorter."  Good Lord...what next?  OOPS---DON'T ANSWER THAT!

Some of the things I brought from her house....my mother's wedding china, her collection of 1860ish Etched Huber and other pattern glass, antique sulphide marbles and her brown and white transferware....
