Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  The other day Ernie and I got home, parked in the drive and then he convinced me, with much coaxing, to go in the back door (where the snakes always are).  He swore up and down that it was too cold for them to be out.  So I cautiously followed behind him and then just stood in shock as we walked right up to the door and tried to get me to follow when there was A SNAKE RIGHT UNDERNEATH THE DOOR.  It wasn't a big snake...it was quite small but IT WAS A SNAKE JUST THE SAME.

He (Ernie----not the snake) apologized for not seeing it but it may be the last time I trust him....

2.  Last night I dreamed that I was in a restaurant.  People started coming in so I began seating them to help out.  Then they told me I had to start waiting tables.  Now, I have never waited tables in my life---and I hadn't in my dream either.  So I tried and tried to figure out where everything was and do the best I could but then the table of seven started complaining.  It didn't matter how hard I tried---things just kept going wrong.  I tried explaining that it was my first day ever of waiting tables but they didn't care.  Just as Ernie woke me up I was in the kitchen asking if they were SURE I was supposed to be working---because I hadn't known about it and, and, and....  I woke up tense and sweaty with a headache.  My dreams are so easy to figure out----nothing mysterious there....

3.  Apart from the Christmas tree itself, I am a clear light girl.  I like to cover my arbor in them and leave them up until it's time to start gardening again.  However....the guys have BEGGED for colored lights so this year I will put colored lights on my arbor.  They're probably right....sometimes you can be too tasteful for your own good.

4.  Tomorrow is tree decorating day AND Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is on AND Top Chef.  (I love the Island of Misfit Toys). Now if I can only get Owen to sleep early enough to keep him from talking through Top Chef.

5.  My sister Debbie is here for two weeks which is GREAT but I know it's going to go fast.  I wish time would slow down....
