....the laziness continues.....
Ernie and I did sneak out for lunch, well, er, a couple of drinks at Fries and Peanuts, yesterday. First we took Wally for a walk since we had a break in the rain.
Then we took off, first stopping and looking for a birthday gift we have in mind for Owen and found it out of our price range so we shrugged our shoulders, decided we'll get him the cheap version, and went to lunch (sic). Took a couple of pictures on the way. I'm almost embarrassed that I don't remember noticing the faint lettering on the top floor of this building. I love this building---it's across the street from one of my all time favorite buildings in C-U and it's cornice is intact---just the first floor exterior is messed up---could be gorgeous but I believe the News-Gazette owns it so I don't imagine it has a bright future in terms of renovation at least. Oh well. Can you tell what it says across the top? Anyway---I like the orange and lemon on it....
Can you read what it says at the top? Here's a close up....
Here's my favorite building..... anyone know what the story is on this? I had thought Chris Knight owned the building to the north but it's listed as Youngerman in the property records....and my little one just as a Bank Trust. I worry about it. Fresh paint on the trim though....
Then of course we headed over to our destination and this neon looked nice in the greyness....
So what are our plans today? Oh noooooo.....I hope the laziness isn't over. I do have to go over to my mother's and do her shopping, etc. Gotta help Judi pull together some paperwork, should unpack some boxes in our dining room, want to get our bedroom cleaned up. When we cleared out the 'office' for Judi's bedroom all that crap that was in the office had to go somewhere.....our bedroom is now so crowded and messy (well, it was messy anyway) that I can barely get into bed. Of course I manage but I do want to try to get things cleaned up. I want to paint it and I'm thinking of......are you ready? I'm thinking of painting it.....WHITE. I know, I know but I think it might feel clean and bright and then the so-so white shelves that came out of the office would fade into the wall.....we'll see.....
Mostly I want to sit here and play with youtube. Here's my latest find. I really wish I had seen Pere Ubu somewhere along the way. And please note the size of David Sanborn. It looks as though he has big hair but it's just that he's really tiny. It seems that oftentimes when you see people with big hair it turns out they just have really small heads. It's just a case of relativity. I realized this life lesson when I met Wanda Jackson. Her hair really isn't that big----it's just that she's tiny. That hair on me would look like nothing....
Anyway....here are the musical stylings of Pere Ube (oh and Deborah Harry's there too).....enjoy.....
