Random Notes from a Single Sandwich....
1. Good GOD would I be bad as a single parent. GEESH.
2. I finally realized that Monday is NOT a school day so that changed the babysitting arena for Sunday night. I now have things covered but SO MUCH love to Becca, Susan (and Carolyn) and Don and Sarah. You guys are AMAZING!
3. I took the guys out to do some grocery shopping and somehow let myself be suckered into getting them each a small ($10 I promise) Lego set to make them feel better for not getting to see their father. Of course by that time Owen seemed to feel fine. Good Lord sometimes I just don't know.....
4. Got back home tried to get some energy to do some stuff when I got a call from my mother. She didn't sound so great....said she was having chest pains, nausea, etc. I asked her if she'd taken her pain pills. She said no and hung up on me. Hmmmm. So we got in the car and drove over. She hadn't moved since I talked to her. She hadn't taken her pain pills so I got them for her. She said she didn't think they did anything for her heart (and oh by the way she refused to go to the ER). I said that if she got her other pain under control it might help everything else--which often seems to be the case. So we sat there awhile....Leo curled up on the couch and went to sleep. I did her grocery shopping. Owen cheerfully watched some cartoons. She eventually felt better. Oh, and I asked her if she had nitroglycerin and she was amazed...she'd forgotten ALL about that. GRRRR. She said she didn't think she had it anymore.....sigh. I made her promise to call about it on Monday. She seemed fine when we left. I felt somewhat exhausted.
5. Driving to the store this morning the boys were discussing ghosts. Owen asked me if they were real and I told him that nobody really knows. Then Leo piped up and said, with great authority, "Owen, NOBODY knows. We might learn by time that global warming kills us though." Uh...WHAT? He then proceeded to give a quite nice little explanation of global warming. I was somewhat speechless as I often am these days....
6. Ricky is over right now and the three of them are playing with Star Wars Lego. The part I like the best is that they go and play a video with the appropriate dramatic music on the computer as a background for their play. Every time it ends one of them trots into the kitchen and starts it up again. Man, I love my guys.
7. I miss Ernie but just one night. I'm assuming the show was probably crappy as I haven't heard from him but whatEVER....I just want him home....
