Dry Shoes and a Bra....
Lately I have lots of dreams about Judi moving….her friends and I are helping her pack and it’s things from her house and things from our childhood….and some things not as we never had the game of Life…. Fitting though, huh? My dreams are so prosaic….never much that’s too hard to interpret seemingly….
We ended up with quite a bit of water in our basement yesterday and I know there were boxes of some of Judi’s things that got wet and collapsed so all the boxes fell….who knows what got damaged and what didn’t and of course who knows what the hell is down there in the first place. I have to just let it go….let it go….
The boys got out of school early and rode their bikes through the flooded streets and field next to us. Many sets of clothes later---and with the washer and dryer not accessible----they came in soggy, muddy and happy. Fnding dry shoes for them that FIT this morning was quite the challenge. At one point I really considered keeping Leo home because he had no dry shoes. The boys have grown incredibly over the last year…..several shoe sizes so I have barely worn shoes that we couldn’t get on their feet this morning….no matter HOW hard we shoved…..
And then there was the housewide search for my bra (or breastholder as Owen calls it….Ernie always laughs at that but I think it’s a brilliant description). Never did find the one I was looking for. Ernie asked me if I was sure I wasn’t wearing it…..YES I’m sure I replied…. Finally found one that was purchased more recently than when Owen was an infant…..which is unusual. Perhaps I should take care of myself a bit more? At least I didn’t have to call in sick to work because I couldn’t find my bra….
