Triumph....

ahhhhhh......the sweet boys of the neighborhood did themselves proud today at the kids' race at the Tour de Champaign.....  Dema roared to a first place finish in the 3-5 age group.  In fact he just kept roaring as nobody had told them when to stop.....lol.  That boy has the soul of a competitor.  He then proceeded to take part in the mid level race and then the full course race for the older kids.  Here he is with an early lead.....what I really like about the picture though is the action shot of Linda, with Josie on her back,  photodocumenting it all...

Then the full course race with Parker, Leo, Owen...(and Dema) started.  A trio of guys with fancy bikes and bike regalia won but Parker zoomed in after they did with Leo not far behind and then Owen not long after.....  They seemed quite proud of themselves.....especially Leo....my sweet, sweet pea.  When we got home....after a celebratory trip to Custard Cup he kept saying...."I never would have thought I'd come in sixth or seventh place.....I'm not sure which it was...."  I told him I was very proud and that he should just figure that he came in sixth.....

Kudos to other friends that raced-----Ethan, Ginger, Henry.....and most of all....Debra and BECCA!!!!

I know it looks as though Owen could Dema for a mid-afternoon snack but I swear he won't!
