Random Notes on an August Morning....

1.  Leo's sunflowers started blooming this weekend and he LITERALLY jumped with joy when he saw it.  From my sick, Cary Grant movie watching couch, it did my heart good....  How can you not adore a child who jumps up and down in excitement at their sunflowers blooming?

2. Tomorrow Owen is going to have a playdate with a friend that he loves....Leo also really likes him but I decided to not have Leo go along as I feel as though we need to start letting the boys have some friends/things on their own.  They're so close in age and god knows they're exactly the same size (no hand me downs in this family) that it's easy for all of us to think of them as one unit.  That doesn't always serve Owen well somehow as he's the younger one so we're going to try to be more aware of this.  Ernie proposed to Leo that while Owen is on his playdate that he and Ernie go out to lunch together (Fries and Peanuts of course).  Leo is....SO....excited.  It almost breaks my heart.  He keeps bringing it up with a huge smile on his face.  This totally reinforces our idea that we need to start spending more one on one time with our sweet peas.  Oh....and I think Ernie is rather flattered by Leo's excitement so it works out well for ALL the guys....

3.  Between the rain on Friday evening and the heat and a/c over the weekend (and not feeling good) I spent more time IN our house than I have in some time.  It reminds me why I love the change of seasons.  During the warm weather we are usually outside for much of the evening and I forget how pleasant it can be to be inside our house.  That probably sounds nuts but it felt nice to have my eyes looking at different things...especially since we rearranged our living room a bit after the party....

4.  Things are set.....put December 5th on your calendar if you want to join us for our Christmas Party/House Concert with Fats Kaplin and Kristi Rose.  They are lovely people and the music will be wonderful.  I LOVE having something to look forward to.....

5.  Some overgrown cilantro.....
