Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. Ernie, Lisa and I went to the visitation for Lori's sister last night. Lori looked beautiful but exhausted.
It was surprisingly difficult. It was the same funeral home that we used for Judi. The last time I was there was when we picked up her ashes.
And yet again I was there for a sister who died of cancer.
I'm glad Lisa was with us----it made it easier.
I'm glad we went.
Fucking cancer.
2. When I got home from work last night before we left I released Owen from his room (long story) and he happily danced around the house announcing, "guess what Mom? Dad's going to wear LONG pants tonight" Thanks for the exciting news Owen.
3. I woke up at 3 something this morning and had troubles sleeping after that so I'm bleary this morning. I'm not even enthusiastic about going to the guitar festival tonight at Krannert.....now I'm thinking we should have gotten a babysitter instead of planning to bring the boys with us....man, I don't know. It's a school night, they're getting over being sick....we've got a busy weekend planned....eh..... I know Ernie wants to see Junior Brown though. I'm sure I'll enjoy him well enough but I think I saw Junior Brown too many times in the 90's. Just like I can't do caffeine after too much speed in the 80's....sometimes your body just has had enough.....
4. Can't believe I screwed up and scheduled a trip to Legoland and Superdawg on the weekend of the guitar festival....I DID want to see Jerry Douglas on Friday evening.....for FREE no less and at the Cynthia-friendly time of 5:00 p.m. I should be midway through Legoland at that point.... Good thing I love those damn sweet peas. Speaking of which Leo just ordered some more Lego Star Wars guns from the Netherlands since he was pleased with the last ones....
5. I know this picture isn't that good....but it somehow suits the morning.....that's how I feel....partially in focus....partially blurred.....
