Wow. Tired but Happy.
I've got so much I want to say about the weekend, the Vertebrats, and seeing people whom I hadn't seen in YEARS. As always....it will take a bit of time to process it all and write about it. Last night went by so fast....Veronica got here, we hung out for a bit and then headed over to meet Berni and Wendy for dinner at Fries and Peanuts. Laughed and laughed (THANK YOU guys for dinner).....God I love them and then we headed over to the Highdive. I wanted to get there a bit early so I could try to get a good seat because of the whole knee thing. Fortunately I got a perfect spot so I could sit through the whole thing but still feel like I was in the thick of it.
And the guys.....well the guys sounded great. Really great. Great enough that I didn't want to think too much about the fact that this could be the last time I would see them. When they started to head up onstage for the second set I almost felt frantic. I didn't want them to start because then it would be over. You know how sometimes you don't want to go to bed even though you're exhausted because next thing you know it will be morning and you will have to go to work or school or something you don't want to do. That's how it felt. SLOW DOWN.....or it will be OVER.....sigh.
They started Left in the Dark and I figured I could either sit there and get teary or I could record it so here it is via my little camera, cut off at the beginning to boot. Hopefully some better versions will pop up but this will tide me over for now.....
Then of course we were close to tears with laughter during a couple of classic Jimmy Wald numbers....I'll have to write more about those later....that will take more energy than I have at the moment.....God I love Jimmy.....
They broke into Robbery and again I panicked at the idea of......is this IT? So I whipped out my little camera and you have another abbreviated version....
I haven't processed it all enough to write more......I'll post a few pictures.....and are Sasha and Dick the best in the world for hosting the perfect brunch today? Man I am blessed with my friends.....and after all this I feel as though I have even more friends....
Thanks guys.....thanks to all of you that were there and thanks to Kenny, Matt, Roy and Jimmy, for not just this weekend, but for all you have meant to so many over the years....
