Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Here’s the view as I sat and drank water….and more water andmore water…..for my ultrasound today. I was supposed to have a full bladder and the water I drank ahead oftime didn’t do the trick well enough so they just kept pouring water down mefor another hour.  Geesh.  Ernie insisted on coming with me andeven though I told him he really didn’t need to----I was glad he wasthere.  I’m really not worriedabout this…..but just the same it felt odd.  I remember sitting with Judi while she had an ultrasound ayear ago and then of course the ones I had while pregnant with the boys.  Such funny circles life draws for us,huh?

2.  Yesterday I gave Owen a letter he received from SantaClaus.  His eyes got big, hegrabbed it from my hand and started opening it, stopping only to look up at meand say worriedly, “oh I HOPE this is good news…..I haven’t been a good boy allthe time. “  I assured him he’dbeen a pretty good boy.  “SometimesI fight with Leo though,” he said.   Then he gave abig sigh of relief when he saw it was just a friendly letter from Santa Clausand not a harbinger of coal in his stocking or anything like that…..

3.  The librarian at the boys’ school (whom they love) gave Leothe little Luke Skywalker Lego figure that came with a Lego book the libraryhad gotten.  You should see him….hepositively radiates pride!  It’s ina little plastic bag (he even thinks the bag is wonderful) so he put a hookthrough the plastic and hung it on our tree.  He did take it down to show off around the neighborhood butcarefully put it back on the tree when done.

Man I love those boys. All three of them.

4.  Now for big news:  my sister Debbie gave me FRUIT OF THE MONTH CLUB!!!  I've ALWAYS wanted Fruit of the Month Club.  Ever since I was a little girl.....and now I get to wait for my delivery of fruit every month.  I LOVE YOU DEBBIE!!!  Woo-hooooooo!  Oh, and Ernie got Beer of the Month!
