Three Days......Three Days....
Well, my mother said she'd be home for Christmas no matter what....and she was.....
She lasted three days.
She's back in the hospital.....urinary tract infection and pneumonia. She seemed fine yesterday but her homecare worker called this morning. She went to get her up and my mother was confused, thought she was me, didn't want to get up etc. Her blood sugar was low so Sara got some orange juice into her but she kept throwing it up. Sara called me and I sighed.....and said call for an ambulance. But you know...it goes to show how commonplace this is becoming to seem because I was just about to leave for church with Owen and instead of disappointing him I just sent poor Ernie and Leo over to the house/ER and said I'd be over after church.
Church was lovely.....it was snowing and I was with Owen so what could not be wonderful? Afterwards we went for doughnuts and chocolate milk (for him) and an orange juice (for me). Then we headed to the emergency room and I stayed and sent all the guys home. I figured a UTI but I was disappointed to hear about the pneumonia. Sigh.
I stayed at the hospital for awhile but my mother was just sleeping so I came home. The boys took me to Fries and Peanuts for lunch and between that and the snow they cheered me up.
Three days.....even though I didn't have high hopes I was hoping for more.
