Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  This morning Owen posited the theory that he shouldn't have to go to school as it would be embarrassing because his lips are chapped.  As always, I was impressed with his creativity.

2.  My mother seemed a bit better yesterday---none of the goofiness---like asking how Bonnie Hunt got on the tv (and she wasn't questioning her career path mind you) or the like.

3.  Watched my beloved David Olney last night on his Tuesday evening Ustream show was touched to hear him say nice things about our house concert.  He also mentioned----as he did during the concert---that in the midst of the show our house started to look like a Bruegel painting.  And you know.....I think I know exactly what he means....  We've got all that dark woodwork and the walls are gold.....

 

He does 3 songs inspired by New Orleans on this----and of course it's great.....

4.  Still feel cold-ridden and kind of rotten but good enough for work.  I'm doubly glad Debbie's here as I don't dare go see my mother while I have a cold---her respiratory stuff is in enough of a mess....

5.  I made eggrolls again last night.  They were really good but I still have to work on my stuffing/rolling technique.

6. I have absolutely no other news except that Owen's 2nd grade play is Friday and I STILL have not gotten his costume together.  Why do I always think of it in the middle of the night?  They must hate parents like us.  Oh well....at least our kids are great---hopefully they make up for us.....

7.  I love it when the snow sparkles.....and when you can see the tracks of busy little birds....
