Savoring the Glow

I'm still in my post Olney glow....hate to think about going back to work tomorrow but the glow should hang on for awhile so it's all o.k.  In fact when Owen took a picture of us all the next morning when they came to pack up all their stuff he noted that there was a glow from the window on our faces but I didn't want to drag the guys all over the living room so I said to go ahead and take the picture.  In hindsight though it is appropriate.....we felt like we were glowing.....

 

And of course they signed the big guitar.....

 

They both couldn't have been more charming.  And Sergio gushed over one of Ernie's guitars (the cool green Telecaster) and his little guitar ego just about burst.  What an extra dollop of pleasure it is to genuinely like the people that create music you love.  Amazing.  Lovely men.

We were lazy yesterday----Debbie was great and spent the day with my mother and got her settled back into the nursing home.  I'm SO glad we switched her to Champaign County---I feel MUCH more positive about the place.  We'll see of course but I feel better.  Ernie and I went to Fries and Peanuts and giggled at each other every so often....tried to recall our favorite moments of the night before and rambled on a bit...before coming home and eating leftovers and collapsing early.

Today Debbie, Owen and I went to church and then met Ernie and Leo at the nursing home later.  Got my mother's tv set up and chatted for awhile.  The guys liked the chair in her room as they both fit in it.

 

We all went for lunch after....Debbie and I took off after and left the three guys to play pool for awhile....

Here is Owen trying to helpfully shield his brother from the camera....finally they took the camera away from me and gave it to Debbie to hold.....and of course she sided with them....

 

Mom seems a bit anxious....has called four times so far this afternoon....hopefully that will calm down.  I told her I'd come by after work tomorrow but that I was going to 'take some time off' while Debbie was here and not come so often.  Besides.....hell....I gotta be here at 6:oo on Tuesday to watch David Olney on Ustream, huh?  Yeah, yeah, yeah I know....I'm always been slightly obsessive......frogs, pattern glass, Vertebrats....ERNIE.....but I LOVE what I love damn it.

I'm off to go savor my glow a little bit more.....
