Antique shows and Taxes and Spring....

Next week Ernie is doing an antique show in St.Charles.  Owen decided, a month ortwo ago, that he should accompany his father.  He rhapsodizes about the whole thing….”Daddy will have HELPso he won’t have to work so hard unloading” and “at night we’ll each have a bedto ourselves and we can watch tv and eat KFC” (I don’t know why he has thispicture in his head of the two of them eating Kentucky Fried Chicken.  Owen hasn’t ever had it but he assuresme he thinks he would REALLY like it.”

He thoughtfully also explains that it would be really nicefor Leo and me to have a weekend to ourselves so we can do thingstogether.  He eventually wore usdown and is indeed going to accompany Ernie to the show.  I told him this is a one-timething---he can’t take school off every time Ernie does a show and he eagerlyagreed.  He is SO excited that hemay burst.

The boys did go to a show for awhile a year or so ago but Ifear Owen has no idea how boring it can be sitting through an antique show in badeconomic times.  He has assured methat he will bring his DS and some books to read though.  When everyone got the flu his mainconcern was though he and Ernie recover in time for the show.

Honestly it is a good idea.  Owen and I tend to do things together more  and Leo and Ernie as well.  I think we naturally kind of fall intothose patterns due to the way their personalities echo ours somewhat.

I can't even begin to tell you how excited Owen is about doing this show with his father.  It does my heart good.

A few random pictures from the day:

Thank God for my friends.  My beloved Renee Pollock helping me figure out the tax stuff for my folks' house.  God I love her.  There are some friends that you just KNOW always have your back.

I finally have spring fever.  I wasn't feeling it...I love winter and the greyness suited my mood but I'm finally there.  Some pretty sunshine dappled mossy bark in downtown....
