Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Tough going back to work.  Now mind you I have a good job, a great boss and a WONDERFUL colleague whom I work with but it was still a difficult adjustment and I did it less than graciously.  Oh well. 

2.  I got home somewhat mesmerized by the huge backhoe smack dab in front of our house.  They're digging up our alley this week....of course they managed to cut a gas line but it was fixed by the time I got home.  So I got home feeling almost......GOOD....and walked into a somewhat deserted living room.  I asked Ernie where everyone was and he said the boys were out riding bikes (yay) and my sister.....well, my sister.....she was up in bed....  YES...WE BROKE DEBBIE.  Sigh....the godawful bug finally felled her too.  She got up briefly in the evening and then decided better of it and went back to bed.  Good Lord what a week or a month or a year or whatever it's been....

3.  I didn't feel like cooking much so I made some less than stellar fried rice and we watched American Pickers.  Have we TALKED about this show?  It's on the Travel channel on Mondays and I mean I WANT to like it....it's about pickers buying antiques and whatnot....but for God's sake they have a Mercedes van painted with their business logo.  I just can't get past it.  Why aren't these guys more likable?  I don't hate them but something about this show just does not WORK!  Anyone else watching it?  

4.  The other day Owen told Debbie that the best year of his life had been when he was seven because both Judi and Grandma were both alive that year. 

5.  David Olney tonight on Ustream at 6:00 central.  I've missed the last two weeks so it will be good to listen again....  Here are my beloved David Olney and Sergio Webb.  Before this clip the dj mentions that David Olney was mentioned in a Todd Snider song.  Anyone know which song?
