Good Mood Remains Despite Failing
I'm in such a good mood because Ernie and Bob were in Nashville last night that the following fails aren't particularly upsetting me. I haven't talked to him yet but I know a wonderful time was had. Kristi Rose said Kane Welch Kaplin was fantastic and that means that Ernie's head may have popped off from joy. I feel like such a GOOD wife!!!!!
1. Spring Cure: FAIL
Total fail here last week and this week. Several busy evenings, out of town on the weekend, some vague attempts to get taxes done and working Friday evening and all day Saturday do not a successful Spring Cure make. I'll try to get back on track but it won't happen this weekend.
2. Single Parent: FAIL
I KNOW single parents who appear to be happy and healthy and have great kids. How the hell do they DO that? I need another parent to pass them off to when I get particularly irritated by them. Not that I don't adore the wretched little beasts but STILL.....
3. New Math: FAIL
See #2 above. Helping Owen with his homework....which would be fine if he would focus that wonderful little mind of his instead of just making random guesses. I swear his teacher is a saint. He tells me he can't do any math so I ask him why he's getting such high grades in math. He has no answer. And of course I can't really show him how to do anything because I don't UNDERSTAND HOW THEY DO THESE THINGS ANYMORE. Finally I made Leo help him. Then Leo tried to convince me that one of the answers was wrong because I didn't do it the way they do. BUT EVEN IF I DO IT MY WAY IT'S STILL SUPPOSED TO EQUAL THE SAME THING I yelled to no avail. $2.79 plus $0.59 should STILL equal $3.38! Eventually we all agreed and left the dining room table exhausted.
I need a new version of the old Tom Lehrer song! My parents had a Tom Lehrer record and I remember my father chortling away to it.
This one is pretty great too.....wonderful period piece as well.....
4. Income Tax (for us and various other deceased family members): FAIL
I decided to be responsible, file for an extension and actually try to be accurate. I suppose technically that's not a fail....
Don't care about any of it though because I am in a GOOD mood! Woo-hoooooo!
