From Punks for God to Electrical Outlets....
1. David Olney and Sergio Webb at Manuel's in Nashville....life is good.... Don't forget David's new album comes out next Tuesday, April 13th..... Oh, and if you go to his twitter you can find a picture of him and Sergio duded out in Manual jackets....
2. A video by the drummer, Pontus Snibb, of Jason and the Scorchers about the making of their new album, Halcyon Times. This made me damned happy.
3. I've been feeling behind and uninspired during the last week in regards to the Spring Cure. I'm trying to get back on track. This week's tasks:
- Clean up living room and related closets.
- Repairs are being taken care of this week.
- Declutter books and all media.
- Cancel 75 percent of the catalogs you receive.
- Empty Outbox this week.
- Confirm what you need to increase or decrease color in each room.
- Identify what you need to increase or decrease softness in each room.
- Cook three meals at home this week.
- Send out your invitations.
Well, let's see. Clean up living room? Should be able to manage that. Repairs? Yesterday the electricians put in the new outlets we've been wanting for a decade! Declutter books and media. Well....all the cds are in the media room and they've just been taken off and put back on their shelves and a certain someone really isn't open to getting rid of any. Books are primarily up in the mysterious '4th room' upstairs and that is a project for another cure.... Cancel 75 percent of catalogs you receive. I canceled what I could recall using Catalog Choice. Outbox is sitting in the kitchen with a few things in it.
Confirm what you need to increase or decrease color in each room is a bit trickier. I'm thinking about paint colors for our room and Owen's room. The dining room is on hold. I like the orange we have but I'm not sure how the red painted 19th century cupboard that we'll be taking from my mom's house will look in an orange room.... Softness? Hmmmm. I'll give it some thought in terms of our dining room---otherwise I feel o.k. Cook three meals at home this week? Done. Send out invitations? n/a.
The main task is reworking what is on the walls in the living room. We used to have an old quilt on the wall over the couch and it looked wonderful but Bob began thinking it was a scratching post so we had to take it down. After Judi died we put up one of her pieces---an old metal sign but I'd like something else. I've got some ideas about hanging Ernie's collection of odd and homemade instruments but I have to figure out how to hang them. We'll see what we can get done this evening and tomorrow afternoon but on Saturday we're off to Ohio to my Kane Welch Kaplin boys!
4. I had to work late last night and got home in time to merely kiss the boys good night. I hate missing out on a whole day of them. As much as I think going to see Kane Welch Kaplin will be good for us I'm starting to feel a bit guilty being away from the guys for an entire 24 hours.
5. Well $500 later the Honda no longer keeps telling me that maintenance is required. Sigh.
6. Now, in tribute to the music scene of C-U in the 80's and a beloved friend (vocals)...I give you PUNKS FOR GOD!
