Ray Wylie Did It

Yup.  He made me feel much better about life.  I don't know what I'd do without good music.  And good LORD but I love the Rosebowl.  Although a shout out to Bunny's as well.  If I were an Urbana girl those two places would see a lot more of me than they do.....  And Ray Wylie Hubbard sounded fantastic...sounded strong and sounded like a whole freaking band despite the fact that it was just him and his percussionist.  Strong and funny and charismatic....oh yeah, and really great songs too.... What's not to love?  He's playing in Nashville this Wednesday night at Loveless Cafe's Music City Roots and WSM broadcasts it live starting at 7:00.  Jim Lauderdale and then Ray Wylie Hubbard.  So I will come home and listen to Kristi Rose on Radio Free Nashville online until 6:00, then I'll pay attention to my children for awhile and then around 7:00 we'll listen to WSM for Jim Lauderdale and Ray Wylie!  It's good to have a plan.  Well, I suppose we'll pay attention to our children for more than an hour.  After all, they are my sweet peas.

Speaking of children I must post one of Owen's school papers.  They have to illustrate words and every so often he'll bring a stack of these papers home and Ernie and I giggle til we cry, although we try not to do that in front of him.  It's not that his drawings are technically brilliant but can we just say EXPRESSIVE?  Much like Owen himself.....and they just crack me up.  Ernie showed me this one because he knew I was going to particularly like the illustration for 'stress.'  Good lord but I love those boys....

Oh, and I'm afraid Peony Watch 2010 has come to an end.   Here's the flower I've been taking pictures of:

And yet of course....there are always more....now the pure white ones are about to bloom:
