Dancing In My Dorm Room
407 Allen Hall that is.
The other day I found a video that I'd been trolling for forever on You Tube. I think it was Miles Harvey that told Ileana Gomez to buy The Atlantics used lp upstairs at Divinyl Madness on Green Street one day back in 1980. So she bought it---at least I think she did---or maybe she just told me to buy it. Either way I bought it and fell in love with it. It's one of the albums, along with the Buzzcocks, Joe Jackson, the Ramones and the Vertebrats that bring back memories of my dorm room that I shared first with Eileen, and then with Jeanne Robandt. We arranged our beds in kind of an L so we'd have enough space for a dance floor, which we used regularly. No wonder I was thinner!
The Atlantics reign as one my favorite albums ever by a relatively unknown band that I never saw live. Did that sentence make any sense? Anyway....evidently a couple of the guys got together as Big City Rockers (Big City Rock was the name of their album) a few months ago. Wish I'd been there.....TOTAL POP!
