A Good Day....and Michael Jackson....
A good day, a good day for Van. I'm so looking forward to meeting his sister and seeing old friends at the memorial this evening. The weather is gorgeous, I'm listening to David Olney and busy cooking. Leo asked me a little while ago why I was preparing so much food. He told me I'd prepared 8 tons of food in the last 24 hours. I said, "yeah, I know I think I'm going overboard but you know that's just what I do Leo" and he nodded and shook his head. Ernie asked me why I was making so much too---it's not a dinner, it's AFTER dinner, people might not be hungry..... I just looked and him and said, "but it's a memorial for Van....it should be as special as we can make it." Although honestly I'm NOT making that much....
In other news, Owen has created a little, uhmmmm, bed/home area for Michael Jackson. He went into the mysterious fourth room (the fourth bedroom that is filled with junk) and pulled out a little standing tray and brought it down to the living room. I said, "oh, that's from Aunt Judi's alter, isn't it?" and I swear to God he said something about worshipping Michael Jackson. I tried not to listen because there's a limit....
Anyway...last night I got up to go to the kitchen and Owen told me to say good night to Michael Jackson. I went and did whatever it was I needed to do and then headed back into the media room. He asked me if I had said good night and of course I lied. Then he asked me if I had noticed anything different....uhhhhhh.... So I obediently went back into the living room to say good night to Michael Jackson and lo and behold he was reading a newspaper. Please note the hat rack Owen made as well.....
God I love my boys.....
