Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Sunday was the first completely free day in a few weeks.  Ahhhhhh.....felt SO good.  What did I do?  Not a whole hell of a lot.  Read the paper, ate Ernie's biscuits, read cookbooks, took some pictures in the yard, watched a couple of episodes of Mad Men.  Owen watched some with us although if he thinks it's something he shouldn't see he closes his eyes and covers his ears....and he has stern words for some of the men's inappropriate behavior with women.  Man I love that boy.

2. The other day I wore new shoes to work and both my colleagues almost wept with delight.  You would have thought I'd given birth.  One of them even said, "I'm so happy for you."  Sigh.  I think this means I have to step it up a notch.  Honest to god....I have to say it again....you'd have thought I'd given BIRTH.

3. Matt rightfully pointed out that it's time to stop thinking of Vertebrats shows as reunions but rather just as shows by an ongoing band.  I LOVE that take on it so I'm in.....

4. I've been working a fair amount the last couple of weeks.  Yesterday the phone rang and I picked it up and answered as if I were at work.  The person on the other end?  My boss. 

5.   In some extremely shocking news....it has been determined that Owen and Michael Jackson have the SAME MIDDLE NAME.  I know....I mean I KNOW!

6. I love this video....Jans Project at Pogo Studios with the inimitable Mark Rubel.  I love those Rubels....and those Jans guys too....  I bet they'd make a hell of a house concert, huh?

7.  It's fall.  I mean....it's REALLY fall and I'm loving the crisp October light.....

8.  Oh, but looks at Gail's hydrangea leaves.  I love varigated leaves---aren't they beautiful?
