How Can the Jason Ringenberg House Concert Be a Memory Already?
I kind of feel like a kid who just finished opening all their presents on Christmas. You love every one of them but you're kind of heartbroken that the excitement is over.
Jason.
Jason....well, he couldn't have been any more wonderful....or any lovelier as a person.... You know, to say he was even better than I expected seems odd because of COURSE I expected him to be wonderful....but I gotta say...he was amazing. He sounded great, he looked great (of course), he did request after request from Help There's A Fire to Broken Whiskey Glass to Oh Lonesome Prairie and Tuskogee Airmen....Greetings from Nashville to Link Wray.....man, it was just amazing. Oh, and Harvest Moon....one of my favorites.... I never have it together enough to keep track of the set list....if anyone did let me know.
And as I expected Jason was kind and generous----after all the man DOES have a reputation! I mean, he brought beautiful apples to the potluck and gushed about the food and the people....he signed Owen's guitar....he signed CD's and anything else people brought. He was lovely....just lovely. I just feel full to the brim with happiness....
The other thing that was really great about this party was that we felt that we really made some new friends---from Jason's teachers that came down from Sheffield (Hi Gaye and Suzanne!) to so many others that I met.....and we couldn't be more tickled. We already have some amazing friends but to make more that share our love for music....well, it just couldn't be better.
So I will be thankful this Thanksgiving....for all we have already, and now for the new memories of great music and friendship.....
(thanks to Leo for taking the last picture of the evening---perhaps one day we'll actually get him to be IN it)
One more note----I only took a few pictures----if anyone has any to share, or videos (please) that would be great----either here or on facebook....
Oh, oh, oh.....and one more thing! No offense to Jason but possibly my FAVORITE thing about the whole event was that Jason's Mom sent a big tub of snacks to us. Gaye and Suzanne brought it from Sheffield. Really...I mean REALLY? Could it have been better?
