Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. I had to turn on my lights to drive home from work last night. Damn it. I thought I'd get home and we'd have a celebratory evening given Ernie's PSA reading but things never go as you think. I think we were so prepared for bad news that the letdown of tension was almost as difficult as the news would have been. Well, not really----but regardless of the good news it was a difficult day. I walked in to find Ernie in rough shape and the guys rather cheerfully yelling at each other and doing their homework and things never really evened out.
2. Daylight Savings does make it easier to get up in the morning however. I started off the morning drinking my coffemilk and watching my beloved Will Kimbrough's latest Lick of the Day and it made me pretty happy....I loved what he said and then it made me go play some Clash. The Clash are one of the bands that I really regret not seeing in the early days. As a side note, luckily, if you play the video of London Calling and Train in Vain from Fridays in 1980 loudly enough it totally blocks out brothers loudly arguing over what Lego belongs to whom.....
3. Last night as I grumpily poked around tv channels and as we listened to some music on a show for a moment Owen sighed loudly, put his hands in the air and said, "WHY do they autotune EVERYTHING?
Ernie just smiled in pride.
4. Speaking of pride.....I'm very proud of my Lego Plankton. The boys were looking up SpongeBob Lego on eBay and found this. I was so taken with him that I actually spent $2.89 (that included shipping) to get him. The boys were rather amazed but I love him. And yes, that is dust on my mantel.
5. And so the day begins....
