Random Notes and Pictures from the Sandwich Life

1.  Yesterday morning after the guys bolted out the door for school Ernie sighed, sat down and said, "It's not cancer that will kill me....it's them."  I couldn't help but agree....

2.  Owen wanted us all to watch a movie last night.  Ernie wanted to watch something Thanksgiving related but it's hard to find something that Leo will agree to watch (i.e. no Hannah and Her Sisters as Ernie and Owen originally wanted).  They finally came up with Trains, Planes and Automobiles and after some negotiation, Leo joined us.  Leo and I rolled our eyes a lot as Owen and Ernie giggled.  It was a nice evening.

3.  Have you noticed that I haven't been posting any recipes or cooking notes?  I feel incredibly uninspired.  I don't think I even have one new recipe planned for Thanksgiving.  What's wrong with me?  To jumpstart myself I am going to go to the Prairie Fruits Farm Open House today (Wednesday noon to 5:00) to buy some cheese, get some vegetables from Blue Moon and perhaps admire a goat or two.  Perhaps that will spark me.

4.  However I DID manage to make my cranberry sauce last night.  I love cranberry sauce...don't know why I don't make it more often.  For five minutes work it's so satisfying!  I made this batch with maple syrup and apple juice....I'll let you know how it is.

6.  More Arthur Rackham trees.  TELL me these wouldn't scare you on a dark night....I swear to God one of them might just reach out and grab you....
