Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1.  Lord but Monday comes quickly, doesn't it?  I don't think I have my head wrapped around my week yet although I don't think we have much planned.  Ground Hog Day on Wednesday; it would have been my parents' 59th anniversary.  I find that hard to believe but when I stop to think I know that it was their 50th right after Owen was born....he was barely a month old.  Hmmmm.

2.  Over the weekend Owen said, "if this is too personal just tell me, but do you like having sex with Daddy?"  I explained to him that I did and that is was o.k. to ask me things like that because he could ask me anything but he probably shouldn't ask other people because it is, uh, pretty personal.  He said, oh, I KNOW" and shook his head violently.

3.  Just now he called me into the bathroom where he was brushing his teeth, smiled shyly, and asked, "What's the difference between roast beef and pea soup?"  I shrugged my shoulders and he said, "well anybody can roast beef but nobody can pee soup."

You just never know what's going to come out of him.....literally and figuratively.....

4.  My sweet Leo seems so grown up of late.  He's become so helpful----any time I ask him to do something he jumps to do it.  I can't think this will last but it's lovely.  He's become a particularly great big brother too although he's loathe to admit it.

5.  Oh well, enough rambling about my sweet peas.  Other news?  I made a fantastic meal last night (why didn't I make this one when I was having people over? sigh) of pernil, a Puerto Rican roast pork with lots of oregano and garlic, and some lovely yellow brown (if that makes sense) rice with black beans and red and green peppers.  There's a picture on my camera but the battery is completely dead.  I LOVE my Panasonic Lumix camera but the battery life SUCKS.  I guess I better charge it up in case we really do get a big storm this week.  All the talk and warnings though make me feel as though they've jinxed it....

7.  O.k.....to end on a bright note....here's the flyer for our April Fool's Day Phil Lee and Tom Mason house concert.  Thanks to the talented Mark Gerking for putting it together!
