Breakfast with Owen
I gotta tell you.....Owen is a GREAT date.
We had talked about all going out to breakfast this morning but Owen woke me up with the news that Leo didn't want to go. Leo's got a sore throat and not quite 100% so I didn't push it. Owen had came up with the wonderful idea of just the two of us going however, and he said Ernie had said that was a good idea too. I groaned inwardly because I didn't really feel like it but when I saw his hopeful little face I said o.k. and told him to go get dressed. As we walked out to the van he was already in high spirits...talking nonstop. As we drove over to Original House of Pancakes he told me he just felt so GOOD (and he quivered when he said it) that he almost felt like crying. He held the door for me when we got to the restaurant and just kept chattering.
During breakfast he told me that this was one of the greatest moments of his life, having breakfast with the most beautiful woman in the world. "I'm SERIOUS," he told me, nodding his head. His pancakes were perfection, the bacon was dreamy, the wheat toast he stole from me delicious. It was all one big piece of heaven. He had the money in his pocket and pulled it out when we got ready to go. I told him to leave $4 on the table for the tip but he shook his head and said, "Mom, that waitress was SOOO kind that I think we should leave $5." I would have agreed with anything he said at that moment so I said that was a brilliant idea.
My sweet pea. My sweet, sweet pea.
