Communication Overload

After much thought we decided to get cell phones for the boys.  Now that they're old enough to go off on their own sometimes I like being able to get hold of them, and knowing they can get hold of us anytime they need to is comforting as well.  I ended up ordering some cheap tracfones so I can get prepaid minutes and my beloved friend Annette assured me that it comes out to less than ten dollars a month.

The phones arrived the other day when I was sick and the excitement level was shall we say, VERY high.  Then I spent an hour getting increasingly frustrated trying to activate them....I don't think I was at my best but eventually I got it done.  We gave them to the boys and had a brief talk about this was just for very important things---like telling your parents where you are, etc.

About half an hour later Ernie and Owen and I were watching tv in the media room and suddenly Owen's phone rang.  It was Leo.  He was in the kitchen and had just found something interesting on YouTube.

I got home from work yesterday and Owen told me he was just about of minutes and asked if he could buy more minutes with his allowance.  He explained that it was really Leo's fault because he had prank called him.  "He REALLY did Mom!"

$8 bucks a month my ass.

Here's a wonderful clip of Phil Lee, Tom Mason, Eric Brace and Peter Cooper.  To top it all off the beautiful Fats Kaplins show up midway into the song and ties it all up with a bright red bow.  Ahhhhh......
