Crocus Blooms, Infusions and Phil Lee
In the last two years that Ernie has been getting monthly infusions we have always had the appointments in the morning. For the first time, his appointment yesterday and the next several were scheduled for the afternoon. It felt so odd. For some reason both of us just didn't want to go more than normal. We got there and breezed in and out though....the chemo room was dead empty. Oops, poor choice of words. Anyway, we had our favorite nurse, I had an o.k. selection of magazines (a New Yorker, a Southern Living and something else I can't recall) and we were out of there in no time. And when Ernie picked me up from work to head over there he handed me the camera because as I had predicted, we had our first crocus blooms yesterday. He kindly photodocumented it for me:
So evidently spring is coming.
Ernie and Leo head off for an antique show tomorrow morning. I'm mostly hoping they just have a good time together although it would be nice to take in some money as well. We'll see. Owen and I have a pretty good weekend planned....I believe it involves pancakes, movies, pizza and church....as well as a good bit of snuggling. Oh, and possibly one antique show but I haven't told him about that yet. It feels like Friday to me today because they're leaving tomorrow....gotta remember I'm actually in the middle of the week....
Here is another entry in the Countdown to Phil Lee. A picture from the cd booklet for his second album, You Should Have Known Me Then. As you can see, musicians that played on that album included Jay Bennett, John Stirratt and Ken Coomer, all of Wilco at that time. Allison Moorer also sings on it on a great pop tune called It's Crying, and Gillian Welch and David Rawling sing as well.
