Springtime with Phil Lee and Tom Mason....
Ohhhh did yesterday ever feel like spring! The boys were outside, shooting baskets and helping us (a little) with yard work. I trimmed back some perennials and herbs and cut off all the dead flower heads off the hydrangea while Ernie borrowed a neighbor's chain saw to cut up a huge branch that feel this winter. There are buds EVERYWHERE! It was a day to get you itching to plant even though I know it's too early. After messing in the yard a bit we sat and read at the table outside and then Ernie burned a lot of the brush we'd cut.
I think Ernie felt like getting out and doing something but I just felt like being home yesterday. Usually I'll go along with that because I know he's home more than I am all week but yesterday I just needed to be at home. It was a busy week last week---not bad, but definitely busy--and just hanging out with my kindle and admiring all the signs of spring in the yard was what I needed.
Despite the lazy day I'm jealous of the boys on spring break this week. I'd love to take time off but it's just not in the cards.
I have bright spots on the horizon however! Only 11 days til Phil Lee and Tom Mason. And ohhhh....I think this is going to be a FUN one!
Tom Mason doing the Pirate Song....of course I don't think Warner Hodges is going to pop out of our audience to take over guitar duties but one can hope.....
In both these clips Phil Lee and Tom Mason are playing with Peter Cooper and Eric Brace. Isn't that a dream team? We hope to have those guys here someday as well. Fingers crossed.... But in the meantime....honestly....watch this video and then wonder if the house concert on the 1st is going to be any fun. HA!
These should help on a grey workday morning....at least they do for me.
