1. I swear....I am giving up brining. Whenever I'm convinced by a recipe to brine something I am never happy with it. Perhaps I'm just overbrining. I did some pork last night and followed the recipe (yes...ME...following a recipe) and it just tasted damn salty. I suppose I could try it half strength. Whenever I've tried brining poultry I don't care for it either----it seems to change the texture of the meat. I don't know. How about we just try not overcooking things rather than pouring salt into them? Hmph.

2. Lazy morning today. We still have plenty of vegetables so we're not even hitting the farmers' market. The boys are watching some Phineas and Ferb movie, Ernie's reading the paper, I'm sitting here perusing the internet and Bob the cat keeps begging to go into the media room, and then back out...so the boys patiently open the door periodically. Hattie and Annie are nowhere to be seen.

3. The plan is to go see Arsenic and Old Lace at the Virginia this afternoon...and I've promised the boys a late lunch out afterwards. I love the goofy Cary Grant movies.... We'll see how the boys like it....

4. I'm kinda missing Maine.

5. Picking this up on Sunday afternoon. We DID go see Arsenic and Old Lace and afterwards Leo looked at me quizzically and said, "I did not find anything about that movie amusing." God I love that boy. Owen just kept asking why we would want them to see a movie about people killing homeless men. Oh well. We enjoyed it. Lord but Cary Grant was gorgeous. We made it up to the boys by taking them to lunch and they even got to see their beloved Mary.

6. I love a men in a nice white shirt. MmmmMMMM.

7. My babies are looking so grown up to me these days.... I tried to find a clip of the Clash playing I'm So Bored with the USA to accompany the pictures of Leo but none of them seemed quite right.
