Feeling Uninspired and Getting Organized

I seem to have lost of my pleasure in cooking.  What’s wrong with me?  We’ve ordered pizza twice in as many weeks.  When’s the last time I did a post on a recipe?  I KNOW!  I thought the answer might be meal planning so I dug around and found an online family organization kind of thing and put my meal plan in there along with everything else.  You know what?  It irritated me to be told what to cook.  No need to point out that I was one telling myself.  So that just made me not want to cook what I was going to cook and that didn’t help a whole hell of a lot.

The other day as I rebelliously changed my menu I did kinda get into a little zone….browning some chicken, taking it out of the pan, tossing in a garden load of zucchini, adding  some Italian seasoning and a couple of pinches of fennel seed with a can of tomatoes (the garden is producing but not adequately).  I put the chicken back on top, covered it and cooked it til done, putting it over brown rice.  Actually, it was quite nice…kind of a simple ratatouille but STILL.  Maybe when cooler weather hits I'll get back into it.  I hope so.  Does anyone have any inspiring recipes to tempt me?

By the way, apart from not following my meal plan, I do LOVE my little organizer.  I’m using Cozi.com and really, really like it a lot.  Ernie has a link to it on his iPhone so I can tell the man what to do ALL day long!  Poor guy...but man did he get a lot done yesterday!  We started using an online task management system at work (action method) and I am finding it very effective so I started thinking about trying to got the home side of things more organized.  First I was just using google calendar but I realized I needed something a little more all encompassing.  I poked around online and looked at some different ones but Cozi seemed like the best match.  Very, very easy to have multiple to do lists, shopping lists, calendar etc.  I'm pretty pleased with it.  Ask me in a month or two and then we'll really know.....
