You know, it's funny....the night after a house concert I can never sleep well, no matter how tired I am, or how much wine I've had....  It's as though my spirit is just too wound up.  And the next day I find it hard to listen to music.  The music from the night before is too fresh in my mind and my heart somehow.  So right now I am listening to Owen play some Batman video game that I think is too violent but he's cackling with glee and happy so it's all good at the moment.

Rod and Amanda were utterly spellbinding.  Rod even did Owen's two favorite songs (Sheetrock Hanger and 410).  Given that Sheetrock Hanger is my favorite as well we were both floating.  And Amanda was extraordinary.  There are now a couple of little girls (and possibly big girls) that want to be her.

The food turned out pretty well.  I never did get any of the briam but people seemed to like it and the moussaka seemed to be a hit---I was pleased with the seasoning.  As always, people brought wonderful stuff (tamales!) and lots to drink.  I've been nibbling on leftover cookies for breakfast this morning.

Ernie's cleaning up and I'm pondering making a shopping list.  It's time to buy our turkey and turn from moussaka and the like to our Thanksgiving plans.

Thank you with all my heart to Amanda, Rod, our friends who traveled from Chicago, Evanston and Minneapolis, and all those that came and shared this with us---and Eric who chose to spend his birthday with us!  I truly can't thank you enough.  You know I always worry we won't have enough people but last night it was packed, and I think you were all as happy as I was.  THANK YOU!!
