Winter Evening

We couldn’t set up the Christmas trees on the mantel as planned because Leo and Owen had an argument and Leo stomped up to bed and fell asleep at 6:30.   I didn’t really realize that they had argued (beyond their everyday grumbling)  until about 10:30 when Leo woke up and tearfully complained to Ernie.  Geesh.  One of the many frustrations of dealing with two kids is realizing that there is no way to punish them equally because they feel and do things so differently.  So what is punishment for one isn’t as bad for the other….and they are mean to each other in different ways so they can’t ever see….well….I think you see where I’m going.  Hopefully tonight will go more smoothly.  Although, since I didn’t really understand the fight until later, while I was in the midst of the evening it was lovely.

Poblanos (the last from our garden) and a pretty bell pepper sauteeing for dinner last night.  With pasta and some goat cheese it was delightful, just a bit spicy....made even better by the accompaniment of a showing of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

Man, but I love the Island of Misfit Toys.

Oh, and I think we have a tentative date for Will Kimbrough for a house concert next spring.....
