Clinton, Illinois Wanderings
We enjoyed wandering around Clinton a bit last Saturday. The courthouse in the center of town was torn down in the late 80's so there's a bit of a graveyard feel to that spot but apart from that it was really a lovely town. Things weren't cutesied up or overly restored. It looked like a real town.
I liked this old school bank drive up window....made me think of being a kid for whatever reason.
Here's the nice tin ceiling in the antique shop we wandered around in. Not too much in there but there was actually a nice flint 1860's kerosene lamp that was cheap. I forced myself not to buy it. Ernie succombed to a couple of 45s....picture sleeve of the Banana Splits and something else I can't remember.
the entry to the second floor of the building the antique shop was in:
This three story building had a closed second handish store on the first floor but I don't know what merited its wonderful little topper up there....unless it was the closed steakhouse next door....
Then we meandered home. This is why our house is never clean. I'd much rather spend time like this....
