The Glow
I've got that post house concert glow....and it is PARTICULARLY strong today. Eric Brace and Peter Cooper were extraordinary on so many levels. Their songs, their voices, the third voice that is the combination of them both, their charm, their storytelling abilities and...and...and.... I wish I could think of the way to truly tell you how special it was. Very, very special indeed. There is something about experiencing music like that gives me hope. Hope for what I can't quite articulate but it makes me feel as though everything is possible on some level. So thank you Eric and thank you Peter. You did our hearts good.
I did not take one damn picture so I hope everybody sends me theirs or posts them or something....and VIDEO if you have it. Somehow this cold left me a little more tired than normal in getting ready and around 6:00 I realized my camera was upstairs in my purse and....well, that was just to much to ask of myself. So I am counting on those of you that were there!
And speaking of those of you that were there---it was a fantastic combination of old and dear friends and lots of new people. It was SO wonderful to meet other people that care about music and make them promise to come back! Thank you all!!
We had to get up early today because Leo has some stuff going on. Ernie delivered him and then came and got me and took me for a greasy breakfast at Sammie's. It was a tough decision between the chorizo quesadilla and eggs sunnyside up but I went with the eggs and it was delightful...everything a decadent breakfast after a fair number of glass of wine the night before should be.
I had a lot of people ask me for the recipe for the sesame noodles last night. It's one of those stupidly simple recipes that you just keep in your head. A friend gave it to me----I'm thinking it was Stephanie but if not please yell and I will give you credit.
Sesame Noodles
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sesame oil
1/3 cup honey (last night I used agave nectar so it would be vegan--either one is fine)
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more to taste)
1 lb of pasta
Mix the first 4 ingredients together. Pour onto 1 lb of cooked pasta. This is good right away or prepared and refrigerated overnight. It's endlessly flexible. Last night I used angel hair pasta but of course it's good on anything. At another house concert I used some kind of chunky pasta and then added cucumber and sesame seeds. It tends to last awhile in the refrigerator as well.
I just checked my photo stream and evidently somebody took a picture with Ernie's phone....can't remember who it was but THANK YOU!!! Look at my beautiful friends.....
