Fucking Cancer

Look at this picture.  It's my sister Judi and two of her colleagues, from several years ago.

Judi died of bile duct cancer in February of 2009.

The woman in the middle, Lin Buettner, died this morning of cancer. 

I didn't really know her except that she was extraordinarily good to Judi when she was ill....and to our family as well.

The woman on the right is Judi's colleague and friend, who is now a friend of our family's. She has kept me up to date with what was going on with Lin. I sent Lin flowers a month ago or so when she went into hospice....just to let her know that I was thinking of her and that Judi's love for her was still in our hearts.

My thoughts are with Lin's family and those, like Nancy, that loved her.

I love this picture of Judi. When you look at her smile and the spark in her eyes....don't you wonder how that can no longer exist?
