Sandwich Life House Concert News and Updates!
Good LORD people....it just keeps getting better and better! Not only will you be able to enjoy a wonderful performance by Audrey Auld next Friday night.....you will also get a performance of three poems by the Illinois State CHAMPION of Poetry Out Loud.....Carolyn Muller. Carolyn won the State competition and is headed for the National competition in May. We thought we'd get her a little more experience with an unknown crowd....
O.k., I will admit that Carolyn is the daughter of my friend Susan....but she is our friend as well. She is also the last person to babysit for the boys.....although Leo claims to have no memory of EVER having been babysat, but you know....that's just my boy.
Moving along....come Friday, May 18th we have the GREAT Rod Picott coming back. Last time he was here he played with Amanda Shires and while I'm sorry we won't have Amanda, I'm thrilled that we get even more songs by Rod. His 2011 album, Welding Burns, is without question my most played album of the last...mmmm...I don't know...decade or so. It's crazy how much I play it and never tire of it---really exceptional songwriting, a great performer....and a delightful smile too.
And THEN......on Saturday (yes, a Saturday for those of you who use Friday as an excuse), June 23, 2012, the Mighty King of Love, Phil Lee, will perform at CynthiaFest. Ernie and I don't usually celebrate birthdays big time but we've been joking about this somewhat major one of mine for a while. Honestly, I think it makes Ernie and my older sister Debbie feel older than it makes me feel lol.... My birthday is actually later in the summer, but I'll be in Maine at that time so Phil and Ernie and I will be celebrating on the 23rd of June. It will be "a night to remember" as Templeton the rat (voiced by Paul Lynde) says in the Charlotte's Web movie we used to watch.
Mark your calendars....and let me know if you have questions....
