Thinking About Turkey...and Delafield, Wisconsin

I am SO excited about Thanksgiving because my friends Boo and Doug are going to share it with us! I've been happily perusing recipes even though no doubt I'll make the same damn thing I always do. I've been kind of intrigued with this recipe for a slow roasted turkey cooked overnight. Now, I don't want to KILL Boo and Doug but this sounds good. I love the idea of waking up to the smell of a roasting turkey. Has anyone tried this?

When Ernie and I used to do the Delafield Antique Show in Wisconsin back in the 90's/early 00's we'd always go to a little bar in town for a drink after set up. We set up Friday morning I guess it was and then the show opened at 5:00 or so. It was an old school restaurant on the main street with a little bar on one side. The actual bar towards the back was low---regular table height---and there were chairs with high arms that swiveled. We'd install ourselves in there and have a couple of drinks. They always seemed to have reruns of the 70's Dennis Weaver show McCloud on the tv. We'd sit and watch and listen to the bartender and a regular or two talk. Sometimes they  would ask where we were from and we'd chat a bit. I remember walking to the bathroom, which was in the restaurant area, once and almost swooning because the smell of the food cooking was so intoxicating. Someone walked by and smiled and said it was turkey roasting for that evening's dinner. Every time I think of that place I think of those swivel chairs, those 70's tv shows and that smell of roasting turkey.
