Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. The cheap $19.97 tree? Nice and fresh and green. The considerably more expensive tree? Practically HURLING its needles to the ground. Oh well.
2. Last night Ernie picked me up from work and we went out for a drink and went over our Christmas lists. I remember my mother saying that her lists would keep growing as she'd try to balance them between girls. I totally understand....oops that's one too many for Owen...better get Leo another....and then somehow it just keeps going.....
3. Downtown Champaign was dressed for the holidays...
4. When I got home last night Owen asked me to go for a walk. I didn't really feel like it but I did and it was lovely. We walked down the street holding hands and he told me that if he were just a bit taller someone might think he was my husband. I told him he was going to make a fantastic husband. We talked about Christmas a bit and looked at lights. When my back hurt too much we'd stop and stand for a minute. He really is delightful company....have I mentioned that?
5. We got back home and Ernie had peeled the shrimp. Leo happily Minecrafted as I cooked and he let me kiss him and bug him. Migas made with salsa and leftover tortilla chips, some onions and cheese....topped with spicy shrimp. Pretty darn good.
6. Owen's version of Jingle Bells is coming along beautifully....and he's working A Taste of Honey as well....that's my sweet pea....
