Random Notes from the Sandwich Life

1. Rule to live by #1: never buy any Girl Scout cookies other than Thin Mints.

2. Rule to live by #2: never schedule something for Easter weekend.

3. I can't decide whether I'm appalled or just envious that the boys had a day and a half off of school, then a whole week off of school, then a snow day, then three days of school and now get a day off of school tomorrow. WTF?

4. The boys have decided they don't want to color eggs and don't want Easter baskets. Leo kindly said we could get him a Hershey bar if we wanted. WTF? 

5. Last night Owen played two things for me: first a singing goats video and then a Strauss waltz. He told me he loved the waltz and I melted into a puddle of bliss and missed my mother immensely. I muttered incoherantly at him and he smiled happily. 

6. I did laugh at the goat video.

7. The other morning we ran late because a child was complaining about not having any good jeans. This delayed things somewhat and when we finally dropped him off, and I watched him walk off in some questionable jeans, I said to Ernie, "those jeans look geeky." His response? "Well, look over at your side of the family, you've got some geeky genes too." I stared for a minute and then yelled, "I meant JEANS not GENES!!" Look at my side of the family indeed....I'm looking at your side of the family now buster. Let's talk about who has the geeky genes....
