Hardly Strictly Ernie
I can't quite imagine a better night than Saturday. I don't think I really have the words to describe it. You know it's a good house concert when the music flies by.....the first set is over and you think, "ALREADY?" Jason Ringenberg is extraordinarily special. Truly one of the loveliest people I think I've ever known...and those songs and those kicking legs....it's pure joy to have him here. And the fried chicken was wonderful----thank you Sue, Val and Boo...and thank you to everyone else for the amazing spread!
I broke my rule and recorded a couple of songs and as much as it does take you out of the moment it IS fun to have them later. I LOVE Oh Lonesome Prairie, Harvest Moon, and his song about the Tuskegee airmen. I love guys that love history!
I feel incredibly blessed to be able to have something like this in our house. Thanks to everyone...and thanks for making Ernie feel loved. Today is his actual birthday so I took the day off work....I think we're going to head out to Allerton with the boys and then to lunch. We're still feel as though we're glowing from the wonderful night....
Thank you, thank you, thank you....and HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERNIE!!
