Tiredness and Thank You Notes

I’ve lost track of where in the week I am. I just checkedand it looks like it’s Tuesday. It was only Friday that I saw Peter Case but itseems like eons ago.

Peter sounded absolutely wonderful. I think his singing sounds better than ever. We also really liked the guy who opened for him. Dan Hubbard, out of Bloomington.

Other than Peter Case, amoderately lousy weekend. An unpleasant interaction with somebody that weighedon me and I remembered how much stress tires me out physically. I’m in theprocess of going through my blog and editing it to perhaps put into an ebookform or something like that. It’s a strange thing….reading through your life. Ijust finished about the first eight months----beginning in mid 2006. Reading itI realize how often I talk about how tired I am but it’s almost always in themidst of something stressful going on with my folks. I also got sickconstantly. Another result of stress….well, and having young kids as well.

It’s been kind of fascinating to read through it. 2006 seemsso close and yet SO far away. I forget how young the boys were and they make melaugh all over again. My sweet peas. And it’s good that it makes me think ofthem fondly because the reality of them yesterday was much less pleasant. Iwanted to murder them both…well, not murder per se….but perhaps exile themto some safe but unpleasantly spartan house…far away from me.

I saw the doctor at the Spine Clinic again. The shot I hadworked for a few days, then slowly faded away. She would like me to get asecond one. She said sometimes the second one will work when the first didn’t.I’m not particularly hopeful but I will get another one on Friday. Every time Igo I expect someone to say, “You know, this really doesn’t look bad, you justneed to suck it up lady.” They never do. She clicked through the images from myMRI and mused to herself, “Yeah, that’s really severe.” I want to say, “Are youKIDDING? It’s me! It’s Cynthia…I’m the one that takes care of every one ELSE.”

Freaking weird.

And in other notes….my friend Sue posted on facebook the otherday, “Who writes thank you cards? Ernie does. That’s who.” He had sent notes toall the fried chicken contributors to his party and for a gift or two. Hewanted them to know how much it meant to him and unlike me, he didn’t just sayhe would do it, he actually wrote them and mailed them. I thought it was lovely but I couldn't help but agree and think, “Who writes thank you cards anymore?” Well, my friend Boo does....and so does Jason Ringenberg. That's right....he not only was utterly charming and played his heart out.he sent US a thank you! It was so lovely that I wanted to write him a thank youcard for the thank you card. I restrained myself because I figured that would seem weird....

Lovely though. Just lovely.

Sweet boys like Jason and Ernie....nothing better.
