O.K Then
We got to our hotel in Buffalo a little while ago. We are all much more relaxed although once we received good news about Debbie waking up the volume in the back seat went WAY up. Accordingly I am somewhat exhausted and have a headache.
We had problems finding a hotel here in Buffalo last minute. We ended up at Marriott Townhomes....spent more money than would have liked but good God it has two bedrooms which means we get our own tv and own bed. No child in between us, no loud tween shows....YAY! We got the boys ensconced and walked next door to the Marriott Courtyard because we knew we could have a drink thank you very much. I'm on one of their computers too....
I talked to Debbie's nurse a few minutes ago and she said things are good....that Debbie said to tell me she loved me....thank you Debbie. Part of me feels bad that I didn't stay another day to see her awake but it seemed like the best decision at the time. The nurse said that depending on how the night goes, Debbie may be moved out of intensive care sometime tomorrow.
I'm going to wait until we get home before I start figuring out what to do about her car and her cat and probably even her rent...I don't know....just all of it. It's so odd to know that the rest of the world keeps going when yours is on hold....
The only other news of import that I can think of is the fact that the Beech-Nut factory that is off the NY Turnpike in the Mohawk valley, is closed and the sign is gone. Breaks my heart. I guess the factory was closed last year but the sign just came down this year. One of my landmarks gone. I took it with equanimity though because my sister is going to be o.k.
Thanks to all for EVERYTHING. When I get home I have tons of thank yous to get out but please know that Ernie and I, and the boys as well, are floored by all the kindness we have received.
Now I'm going to go back to where my husband is sitting and we're going to drink a toast to my sister, and then maybe to Maine Medical Center.
