Random Notes from the Sandwich Life
1. Ketoacidosis. I kept adding an n to it.
2. Debbie's attending physician told her that the blood pH (I believe it was that) when she came into the emergency room was incompatible with life.
Yeah.
3. I couldn't sleep last night. My legs were all jumpy and restless and all three cats were on the bed. Bob clomping around, looking for my hair tie, Hattie laying at the foot of the bed and Annie...well Annie didn't sleep on my pillow....she slept partially on top of my head. Sometimes she would sleep next to me and would just put one paw on my forehead....or start licking my forehead. It might be endearing come morning but it irritated the hell out of me last night.
4. I woke up bleary but dragged myself to the farmers' market. It felt overwhelming and loud though. We bought corn and beans and squash and lots of summer tomatoes and headed home. I don't even have the energy to take pictures of it all. Maybe one more day of rest.
5. My beloved Jon Byrd helps me so much.
6. They may release Debbie today or tomorrow. We are both hoping for tomorrow. They said she should be able to do stairs if she uses a cane. It's kind of a whole new world for her. She is strong but I'm glad she has so many people caring and praying for her. Please keep it up.
