O.k.....I realize that if I truly were a single parent I would be A. better organized and B. thinner. I haven't had time for breakfast and I run around a lot more. This morning I had the parenting triumph of telling one of my children to look through the dirty clothes and pick the underwear that seemed LEAST dirty. Now I will say, in my defense, that I told the boys last night that if they needed anything washed for school the next day to put it in the bathroom and I would wash it. No takers....and for God's sake these creatures aren't toddlers any more. I suggested that he just go WITHOUT underwear but I was told he had to change for gym class which did pose a problem....and that's where we got to the least dirty underwear. Yeah.

I had to stop at the grocery store after work for the third day in a row. Owen texted me throughout and rejected my first suggestion for dinner. I went along with it because I kinda agreed with him. I walked in the door at 5:26 because I'd left work a little early and the first thing he said was, "Can you make dinner NOW?" Maybe normally Ernie just shoos them away...I don't know. Eventually I gave in and pan fried a pork chop and gave him raw broccoli (he likes it that way) and some watermelon. Done.

I decided it was my duty to do a Sola Gratia post so I am in the midst of playing with eggplant and miso and I gotta say I have no desire to eat anything I've made. See what I mean about being thinner? Hmmmm. Gotta think this through. Maybe I'll have miso glazed eggplant for breakfast.

Thank sweet Jesus that Owen did not have homework today.

Owen reportedly now loves Daft Punk. Just thought you might want to know. He just told me, "WOW, these guys go way back.....they have an album from 1997."

My sweet husband called me and sounded happy and declared fist pumping victory because Kenny Vaughn saw him last night and said something to the effect of, "I know you, don't I? I've seen you around." I don't know how the fuck that boy does it but he is my sweet pea.

Malcolm Holcombe in a week and a half....pay up now guys or I'll have a heart attack. And I've still got school lunches to figure out for God's sake.
